St Marie Under Canon is the new single from our forthcoming album, England Is A Garden.
As a garden gate to the album ‘St Marie Under Canon’ starts the walk sounding upbeat in nature, and gracious in chorus, praising St Marie for all of our battles that she has overseen and adjudicated, ending with the modern day warfare of the public address sound system: amplifier, echo chamber, microphone and speaker. Music through the sound system is the weapon (or should be). Those that have heard it suggest it puts them in mind of The Stones, Beatles, Velvets and Cornershop! In taking such a wide net it summarises much of what will unfold in the full album, in which it is the first move.
